Oregon State is paying dearly

If LaVonda Wagner is upset about being fired, she'll have 1.2 million to console her because Oregon State University "fired her without cause." In the meantime, Haiden Palmer is the eighth player to request a transfer, which would leave the roster at two-strong.

What the Beavers need now, for the scraps of the program that are blowing across campus, is a young coach who will work for food. Good luck with that.

On an unrelated NCAA upside, Pat Summitt has "blessed" a new women's league in Tennessee (sounds like it's similar to the Nike Just Say No League in LA), and now they're ready to go all out. I hope they're successful.
