Injuries not serious category

Tonight's games:

When Seimone Augustus was having a rough game, Lindsay Whalen stepped up for 25 points and eight assists to help propel the Lynx to a 79-67 victory over the Sky.

The Shock lost another close one, as Indiana pulled out a 73-70 win.

As Candace Parker sat out to rest for tomorrow's game, and Nnemkadi Ogwumike missed several minutes with a rolled ankle, Sparks guard Kristi Toliver went ham. With a career-high 29 points, she lead her team over the Mercury, 93-84.

During the Fever-Shock game, Tulsa guard Karima Christmas sustained a knee injury and had to be carried off court. The injury is not serious, according to a Shock spokesman.

A while later as the Sparks and Mercury were playing, LA forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike rolled her ankle and sat out for several minutes. She went back into the game late in the fourth quarter, however.

Whew! I don't want to hear about anymore injuries this season.

NCAA:

Baylor center Brittney Griner won the Honda Cup.
