Crystal Langhorne left out of USA Basketball pool

In a situation remniscent of what happened during U18 team tryouts, Crystal Langhorne has been left out of the women's USA Basketball pool. She has been in the WNBA's top ten in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and efficiency, but she was bumped for....rookie Jayne Appel?

That's beyond scandalous. How and why does USA Basketball make their decisions?

Crystal Langhorne is averaging 16.4 ppg, 9.8 rpg, and 34.2 minutes pg.

Kia Vaughn is averaging 2.2 ppg, 1.4 rpg, and 8.3 minutes pg.

Yet Vaughn is chosen by USA Basketball and Langhorne is not?

[Did Geno owe C Viv a favor?]

The coach of the team doesn't have anything to do with pools or selections; USA Basketball is just stupid on their own.
