The heat is on

NCAA:

The heat is on in Texas for coaches Goestenkors, Curry and Henrickson.

Don't think this hasn't crossed my mind too - especially for Goestenkors. Texas Tech Athletic Director Kirby Hocutt addressed the situation head on:

“We’re not in an ideal position,” Hocutt said of the program, “but Kristy has my confidence and trust. Kristy is our basketball coach and will continue to be our basketball coach. She is going to be our basketball coach next year.”

On the other side of the coin, the field is crowded for Coach of the Year.

More on the Lady Raiders.....senior forward Kierra Mallard has been suspended for a violation of team rules.

After collapsing during a game last night and being hospitalized, Long Beach State freshman Bianka Balthazar is in good condition today, thankfully.

Maryland Coach Brenda Frese stays positive as her son battles leukemia.

Tonight's big game:

#7 Duke beat #5 Miami to clinch the top seed in the ACC.

USA Basketball:

The National Team's exhibition schedule has been unveiled, along with a new logo.

WNBA players:

Apparently Tamika Catchings' East team won the celebrity game at NBA-All Star festivities, but there is only one game picture of her playing that I can find (though it was tweeted that she blocked a shot by R&B singer Ne-Yo). One photo I did find on the dot-com was of Catchings and rapper Common, before the game.

WNBA transactions:

The Liberty signed Kelly Miller.

i'm seriously shocked to read that curry earns only $300k/yr. i thought the big 12 was the highest paying league (especially for women). hmmm. and after the crap she pulled at purdue and then the griner goading, i wouldn't be too quick to trust her.
