A day for big things

Big performances:

Baylor Center Brittney Griner lit up Kansas State for 29 points, and in the process eclipsed the 2,000-point mark - the fourth in school history to do so. Baylor routed Kansas 70-41.

Cal State Northridge center Jasmine Erving put up a career-high 36 points in the Matadors' romp over Cal State Irvine. CSUN is one win away from clinching a Big West Conference playoff spot.

UCLA junior forward Markel Walker had a triple-double in the Bruins' victory over Washington State: 14 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. It's the first triple-double by a UCLA player since Noelle Quinn's on Feb. 19, 2004.

Kelsey Bone is still showing up for #16 Texas A&M, who beat #25 Kansas. Bone lead the Aggies with 26 points.

Earlysia Marchbanks garnered a career-high 22 points and had 10 rebounds in Oregon State's win over Utah. The Beavers have won four consecutive conference games, which they haven't done since the 2000-2001 season.

Wisconsin-Green Bay pushed their record to 20-0, thrashing Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Four Phoenix scored in double figures.

Big freshmen:

Oklahoma put away Oklahoma State, with freshman Sharane Campbell scoring 20 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the process.

Cal has two fantastic frosh, and they both helped out in the Bears' win over Arizona State: Brittany Boyd with 19 and Reshanda Gray with 13. Junior guard Layshia Clarendon added 16.

Big upsets:

TCU handed San Diego State its first Mountain West Conference loss, dominating them 58-39.

West Virginia routed #12 Louisville.

WNBA bonus:

The Minnesota Lynx traded Alexis Hornbuckle to Phoenix for a second-round draft pick next year.
