Shekinna "triple-dub" Stricklen

17 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists.

I really enjoyed watching the Tennessee sophomore guard/forward do her damage, but she's such a fun player to witness anyway. I've admired her heart in this space before. Apparently Oklahoma Coach Sherri Coale does too:

"I've seen her play plenty of times in high school,'' Oklahoma head coach Sherri Coale said Sunday night. "I'm not surprised by anything that child does.''

This piece discusses well Stricklen's adjustment to playing the point guard position, at 6'2". She's done an amazing job; she must have had a great high school coach.

With tonight's effort, Stricklen became only the second Volunteer in the program's history to rack up a triple-double. What such a storied history at Tennessee, that surprised me. But the player who did it was no surprise at all. Good job, Strick.

yeah, i was surprised that she was only the second player to have a triple-double. i thought cp would have been the other player, hands down. but 1985? wow! and that was a points, rbs and steals combo, iirc.
great game by stricklen.
