Ah, if I was rich and could travel at will.......I'd be at every one of these.

Interesting comments in the rest of the thread, too:

I bet I know which one of the Cal coaches declined to have a door opened for her.

Edit to add two more:

End of the Trails / Portland, OR - July 6-9

San Diego Classic / San Diego - July 16-19

Hey, I can go to at least one of those.

Two other tournaments to add to the list.
1) The End of Trails Tournament in the Portland Oregon area.

http://www.eotbasketball.com/tournaments.htm

It runs from July 6th thru July 9th. It starts right after the Nike Skills Acadamy finishes. Most of the West Coast club teams make it to that event. In the past many teams from the east and midwest made it there too but last years high gas prices took a toll on who attended. I am not sure what this years economy will do to the teams who attend.
Bookmark this site as last year they showed a few games live on line. In fact you can still view about 10 games that they have archived for free.

2)The 2nd tournament is the SD Classic. July 16th thru July 19th.

It it held at about 5-6 different venues in the SD area. The main venue is UCSD(also the best because of the A/C). This is a HS team view event, no club teams. Also, D1 coaches are not allowed. It is for D2 and lower. It is a great opportunity for the "not ready for D1" talent to be seen and maybe offered a scholarship. The only fault I have with this is that it falls right smack in the middle of club time. Although most club tournaments dont schedule for that weekend. However, top players who either just finished a tournament, in say Chicago, have to start play with their HS team which they havent played with for awhile. It is a great time to walk around and see some of the new HS Freshman. Coaches and fans sit together and sometimes some good inside chats can be overheard.

By the way, I will be going to the Nike Nationals in Augusta SC from 7/28-7/31. I heard it is one of the best out there for competitive level and intensity, as only the top level Nike teams from each club can play. Teams from all over the country come to this tournament. California representative teams are Cal Swish, Cal Storm and West Coast Premier.
I guess I can put up with the heat and humidity for a week.

Thanks IM! I've edited the post to add that information.

last year the weather was actually very pleasant so hoping for that again - look for Calswish to do very well again this summer as they return the core of their group with the only real loss of Marinacci, last year they won Oregon, River City and only lost to Tenessee Flight at Nike Nationals who won the event. WCP did really well last year but have graduated or lost their major players so they may not do as well this year. Cal Storm seem to always just do OK.
