I've been pondering how some teams respond to adversity better than expected, and two teams that won today are perfect examples.
Pelted with injuries, Ohio State has nine on their roster, and only three are upperclasswomen. Yet they aren't doing too badly, including tonight's upset rout of #16 Rutgers, 85-68.
Then there is Minnesota, which lost senior star and emotional leader Rachel Banham, but have punched out a 13-1 record including a nine-game winning streak. They beat Purdue today, 81-68.
More results:
Northwestern (they need an AP ranking, fast) pounded Wisconsin, 68-46.
Michigan blew out Penn State, 89-53.
Full scoreboard.
Player news:
Isabelle Harrison has the Lady Vols back on track.
High school news:
#3 recruit Jessica Shepard, who tore her ACL earlier this week, will be an assistant coach this season.
