Upendings

North Carolina State upset #12 LSU, 89-79.

Georgia Tech smashed UTEP, 102-77. This was the first loss of the season for the Miners, and the Yellow Jackets' second straight game scoring 100 or more.

UCLA rallied to beat Minnesota, 58-55.

Almost upended:

#10 South Carolina held off Winthrop, 69-61.

Other games:

San Diego routed UC Irvine, 79-55, to go 11-0.

Tulane outlasted Virginia in overtime, 79-72.

Alabama prevailed in overtime against Troy, 113-105.

Oregon State bettered UNLV, 68-60.
