Hard to argue with Pennell's approach to the game. Basic Basketball. It will be interesting to watch the dynamic between him and Taurasi. If she gets on board right away it will make all of the difference.

He sounds like a pretty good guy in the interview. He pretty much got screwed out of his job at Grand Canyon. They are transitioning to D1 and were looking for a bankable name in PHX to bring in the fans. Coaches don't get much more popular than Majerle in Arizona so Pennell was odd man out. Had nothing to do with his coaching. He's a proven winner.

Dawn Staley is making $850,000 annually to coach South Carolina?!?! I guess when you look at that fact and Stringer's million dollar deal at Rutgers you start to understand why these ladies aren't standing in line to coach in the W.

So Staley is making within $50,000 of the W salary cap for an entire WNBA team and Stringer is making $100,000 more than an entire W team makes in a season.
