Storm-Sky trade seems to be a win-win

Earlier today, the Seattle Storm and Chicago Sky announced a major trade: Swin Cash and Le'coe Willingham to Chi-town for their #2 draft pick. It looks good for both sides, as the Sky needed some experience and the Storm needs some youth. Sky Coach Pokey Chatman is elated, and Storm Coach Brian Agler is "remaking the roster." This will be the Seattle team's first top-four pick since 2002, when they selected Sue Bird.

Fans assume that the Los Angeles Sparks, who get first pick, will take Stanford's Nnemkadi Ogwumike. If they do that, who will the Storm take at number two?

There has also been hypothesis that Baylor's Brittney Griner will forego her senior year for the draft. If she does this, should the Sparks take her or Ogwumike? Who would the Storm choose then?

Lots of unknowns right now, but many thoughts.

I do hope Brittney Griner stays at Baylor for her senior year and graduates with a degree. Why would she leave early? WNBA salaries are not that high. BG is still learning, still growing as a player and a young woman.

Ouch that would really hurt Baylor, a lot think after the Griner era, Baylor could be done!

hmmm. lets see. kim won the national championship in '05, prior to bg ever stepping foot on the waco campus. losing griner to graduation will no doubt hurt, but kim is a winner. i never count her out. :)

griner is only a junior, but because of her age, she could opt to jump into the w draft. however, i think she'll stay and probably get a national championship this year and maybe next as well.

The reason I brought up what people are saying is that Gary Blair has stocked up on a lot of bigs and then Texas made a coup with Stafford, Baylors incoming group are no where near the caliber of what A & M and Texas have been recruiting and they had a decommit this year, I think Mulkey needs to win a national cahmpionship to swing the recruiting tide back her way.
