Mucho action

Looking at tonight's college scores, it's not always the ranked teams that are the most interesting.

Seton Hall took two overtimes to beat Rhode Island, 73-69.

Cynthia Cooper-Dyke and UNC-Wilmington beat Ohio 62-53. After a rough start to the season, including the disciplining of an assistant coach, they are 8-3 overall.

Louisiana Tech beat once-ranked Georgia, 77-62.

Sounds like a helluva game in Fresno, where USC squeaked out a victory over the host team, 82-78. Jacki Gemelos had a career-high 27 points in the Trojan's win. Jaleesa Ross lead the Bulldogs with 29 points, including an amazing seven three-point shots.

And in ranked news, #20 Maryland snapped #17 St. John's 11-game winning streak.

A bit of high school news:

At the inaugural Peach State Invitational in Duluth, Georgia, there was an upset.

LA shakeup: Winning Santa Monica Coach Marty Verdugo will step down after this season to pursue other interests. I have a feeling he'll go out with a bang.
