The Vols, who are no small team, were overmatched tonight. The Bears were led by Odyssey Sims' 24 points, five rebounds and four steals, and Brittney Griner's 21 points and nine blocks. Amazing freshman Meighan Simmons was tops for the Vols with 22 points and five boards.
Griner loved that the Baylor football team was there, and cheering loudly.
Hoopfeed was there and provided excellent running commentary and detail, via twitter. Simmons was so upset about the loss that she was shaking afterwards, but had regained her composure by the post-game conference and was "fierce."
I'm becoming a fan of this young woman.
There was also Kim Mulkey bobbleheads, and Pat Summitt's orange leather jacket. Mechelle Voepel talks about/shows this and more.
