They did it again tonight, to take the Joe Smith Division at Nike TOC:
Brea Olinda 56, Long Beach Poly 48
Of course Brea fans twittered minute-by-minute game reports live. I got them via text while I was watching a junior college game in person, and it was a nail-biter even by phone.
Poly was up 31-26 at the half, but Brea surged and were ahead 43-39 at the end of three. Poly made a comeback and pulled to within two, 50-48, and then apparently Brea turned on the gas and finished hard. Looking forward to reading the game story on ESPN tomorrow.
Justine Hartman of Brea was MVP and Alexis Perry, dislocated shoulder and all, was on the all-tournament team.
So I'm contemplating this Bermuda Triangle thing......if Long Beach Poly has beaten Mater Dei twice, and Brea Olinda has beat Poly twice......when the hell are the two Brea Olinda-Mater Dei games????

Showcasing one of the reasons I love living in the Los Angeles area, several other California teams were also in battle for their divisions today:
They played in the Anderson, Blue, White and Red divisions, and won almost all of them.....
Anderson Division: Huntington Beach Edison 58, Etiwanda 54
Blue Division: Villa Park 54, La Jolla Bishop's 50 (OT)
White Division: Clackamas (Ore.) 48, Narbonne 41
Red Division: Huntington Beach 75, Sierra Canyon 54
ESPN division roundup.
Day four full results.
In other California team news, Troy is at the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC. Tonight they upset Norcross, of Georgia, 55-51. Complete schedule, plus streaming of games with a "W" on the tagline. (Why don't they have that for TOC?)

LB Poly is a great team and the MD games was right down to the wire but they have only beat MD once. fall league games are meaningless and do not count. Thanks?
Poly beat Mater Dei Nov. 13 at a tournament at the HAX. It was not a fall league. And a win is a win.
Thanks.
