Upending day

Crazy number of upsets today:

Kansas knocked off #7 Baylor, and decisively, too: 76-60.

#24 Vanderbilt upset #14 LSU, 79-70.

Virginia rolled by #17 Florida State, 85-68.

#22 Purdue edged #18 Nebraska, 77-75.

Miami toppled #20 North Carolina State, 80-71.

Washington took down #21 Colorado, 81-71.

Almost upset:

#3 Duke outlasted Virginia Tech, 74-70.

#10 Kentucky held on to beat Auburn, 73-71.

Other results:

Inspired by coach Sylvia Hatchell's pre-game movitational talk, #9 North Carolina thumped Boston College, 73-56.

TCU beat Texas, 54-48. In doing so, they ended a 38-year, 33-game losing streak against the Longhorns.

#16 Penn State had to rally to overcome Michigan State, 66-54.

Gonzaga pulled out a 67-61 victory over Santa Clara.

Georgia rallied past Florida, 68-62.

Indiana bested Minnesota in overtime, 83-78.

Arkansas rebounded to squeak past Ole Miss, 68-65.

A last-second layup put Utah over Washington State, 59-57.

USC played big today, tossing off Oregon, 109-85.
