Why not Michael Cooper? He had success in the league.
People who pop out these names are making uninformed, simplistic guesses. They don't know what the coach is doing right now - is he/she available and wanting to coach? Fans also don't know the insider reputation of the coaches, or the personality of the franchise that needs a coach. Would it even be a good fit?
Fans say some very misguided, ill-informed things that make insiders laugh and cringe.
