A bit of deja vu, and Erica McCall in the spotlight

WNBA tonight:

Deja vu from last night: Lindsay Whalen put back her own miss to help the Lynx edge the Mystics, 79-77. Washington had come back from 24 down to give the defending champs a run. Like Kristi Toliver last night in LA, Whalen hadn't had the best game before making the winning shot.

Sylvia Fowles lead the Sky over the Silver Stars, 77-63, with her 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Other WNBA:

Kristi Toliver has reinvented herself.

Lynx rookie Devereaux Peters is loving pro life.

WNBA players are bracing for the month-long Olympic break.

Sparks forward Nicky Anosike reported on a social networking site that her knee surgery today was a success.

USA Basketball:

Today in Florida, the U18 women came from behind to beat the U17 women, 73-66, in a scrimmage. Tomorrow, each team competes against Brazil; check ESPN3 at 4 and 7 p.m. EDT.

Two pieces on the U17's Erica McCall.....she talks about being the sister of the Phoenix Mercury's DeWanna Bonner, and she has been a star in California, but is a team player with USA.

Title IX:

Georgeann Wells - the first woman to dunk - has seen the impact of Title IX on her daughter, Maddison Blackwell.
