Some surprises in tonight's results

Upsets:

#18 South Carolina upset #5 Kentucky, 55-50. The Wildcats' 17-game winning streak is snapped.

Nebraska upended #25 Michigan State, 59-54.

Almost-upsets:

#8 Penn State held off Minnesota, 64-59. They've won eight straight.

#15 Purdue escaped Northwestern, 77-73.

Solid wins:

#4 Duke bounced back from their UConn loss to top Clemson, 60-46.

It was a fast start and finish for #9 Tennessee, who beat Vanderbilt 83-75.

Beat downs:

#10 Maryland 85, #11 North Carolina 59.

#16 Texas A&M 81, Mississippi State 33.

#17 Dayton 80, George Washington 52.

#23 Michigan 61, Indiana 43.

High school:

Tennessee commit and #1 recruit Mercedes Russell and her Springfield High School team went to Massachusetts last week for a tournament. Her play earned praise from opposing coaches. One called her "the best he's ever seen."

Highlight:

I'm an official Northern Iowa fan now, in light of the team's own version of "Gangnam Style." 'Scuse me - I've gotta go laugh some more.

That Northern Iowa video is hilarious, but those folks better hope someone burns it before their current or future kids get a chance to take a look. Too Funny.
