College news takes the spotlight on WNBA's day off

Matt Daniel is leaving the University of Central Arkansas to take the head coaching job at Marshall University.

Not-so-good blood between Daedra Charles-Furlow and Tennessee:

On April 20 — the day after a press conference detailed the coaching transition — Charles was summoned to the office of athletic director Dave Hart and told that she didn't have a place in the new order.

Charles-Furlow understood that the athletic budget was being cut and that changes were in store. But she didn't understand why Warlick didn't break this news to her. Furthermore, she was irritated by Warlick saying earlier this month that she thought Charles-Furlow "wanted to pursue other opportunities."

"I wish she would've told me,'' Charles-Furlow said. "(Hart) doesn't know me. He doesn't know my history."

Pat Summitt received the 2012 Pop Warner Female Achievement Award last night.

WNBA news;

The Lynx are still on top of this week's power rankings, followed by Indiana, Los Angeles, Connecticut and Atlanta.

May 25-27 efficiency leaders are Candace Parker, Tamika Catchings, Angel McCoughtry, Nnemkadi Ogwumike, Candice Dupree and Maya Moore.

Nneka leads the rookie stats.
