Prep state championship roll call

The Tuck sisters threw it down in the Illinois Class 4A championship yesterday.

In Washington State, Holy Names capped a perfect 29-0 season with a 3A state championship. Lewis and Clark beat Federal Way for the 4A crown.

Abile Wylie beat Lovejoy for the Texas 3A 'ship.

Bob Jones upset Hoover, 39-36, to win the Alabama 6A title.

Tennessee-bound Ariel Massengale has won the 10-11/ESPNChicago.com/Muscle Milk Player of the Year award. In the meantime, Coach Pat Summitt has high expectations for her.

From the article on the HS game in Washington.

"Prairie, out of Brush Prairie, came into the title game with five titles in 10 tries — including four crowns at the 4A level — and was tied with Lakeside for the most by any 3A or 4A girls team. The Falcons played without leading scorer Heather Corral, who had ACL surgery Friday, and starter Lanae Adams could go only four minutes after suffering a knee injury Friday.

Heather Corral is USC's Ashley Corral's younger sister. Best wishes for a healthy and speedy recovery.
