Do I smell an even more parity-filled season this year than last?

Upset:

Gardner-Webb upended #22 North Carolina, 66-65.

Near-upsets:

#2 South Carolina held off #6 Ohio State, 88-80.

#14 Duke rallied to get by Penn, 57-50.

#23 Syracuse edged Rhode Island, 57-54.

Other results:

Wake Forest squeaked by LSU, 60-57.

Penn State survived Holy Cross in overtime, 86-82.

Virginia held off Middle Tennessee, 70-66.

Dayton downed Yale, 81-75.

NC State defeated Villanova, 70-64.

Tulane took care of Arkansas-Little Rock, 69-53.

Miami took out Wright State, 80-67.

San Francisco overcame North Texas, 69-61.

Temple beat Florida, 97-91.

UC Riverside pounded Fresno State, 86-68.

South Dakota State ran past Marist, 77-68.

Utah took down South Dakota, 66-59.

Cal defeated Austin Peay State, 67-58.
