West beats East in McDonald's All-American game

West beat East, 80-78, in the McDonald's All-American game tonight:

CHICAGO -- Brianna Turner came up with the big shot and a big stop when her team needed it.

The Notre Dame-bound star hit a jumper with 53 seconds left to lift the West to a 80-78 victory over the East on Wednesday night in the 13th annual McDonald's All-America girls basketball game.

Turner earned MVP honors with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The basket came off a pass from Jordin Canada, who will be headed to UCLA next year. It was the seventh assist of the game for her which broke former Duke star Jasmine Thomas' record.

Canada even got a few sentences in the LA Times, which means that hell must have frozen over.
