Riquna Williams scores 51 points, breaks WNBA scoring record

In the Shock's 98-65 routing of the Silver Stars, second-year guard Riquna Williams scored 51 points and broke the WNBA's scoring record. The previous record in a single game was 47 points - a feat accomplished by both Diana Taurasi and Lauren Jackson.

In other games:

The Mercury pressed past the Dream, 79-71.

The Sky pulled away from the Mystics, 93-79.

At the risk of having my word choice challenged again, Riquna Williams is a "beast." (Just ask Shameks Christon!!)

Too bad we can't see an NBA All-Star Weekend-like Freshman vs. Sophomore game. Despite all the fanfare (not to mention EDD's brilliance), I think I'd favor the 2012 bunch.

This is my assessment of the 2012 rooks:

That comment is both true and funny. That said I'm sure it will offend someone.

She had quite a game. Kinda makes a person wonder where she's been all season. Given all of the close / overtime games Tulsa dropped this year they could have used someone that could drain the three when it mattered. If that baller would have been around Tulsa would have had a legit shot at the playoffs. In any case Good for Her.

Methinks maybe "Three to See" got in the way of basketball reality in Tulsa early on and by the time they figured it out they were already sliding into mediocrity.
