July is poppin already

College:

Conference realignments are in full effect today, including the Pac-10-turned-Pac-12. Pac-12 tournament basketball will be in Los Angeles next year, but Seattle will make a bid to host it the year after.

Final Director's Cup rankings:

1. Stanford
2. Ohio State
3. California
4. Florida
5. Duke
6. North Carolina
7. Virginia
8. Texas A&M
9. Florida State
10. Oklahoma

Florida Gulf Coast University has landed Whitney Knight, who de-committed from Duke.

Bett Shelby will join Seton Hall's staff as assistant coach.

I'd like this job/oops: Kansas overpaid Coach Bonnie Henrickson $2 million in 2009. Commentary.

WNBA:

The New York Liberty celebrate 15 years of existence by honoring a select group of players, and putting them in the "ring of honor."

Mercury point guard Temeka Johnson's ankle injury from last week is more serious than anyone first thought. She is a game-time decision tonight.

Club ball:

College coaches rank club ball coaches in ESPN's continuing series. Three California coaches get the nod for being good.

Interesting that the biggest recruiter of them all, offering players pie in the sky is not mentioned ie Taurasi - I think some of the negative comments from coaches refer to him as he is a yeller and has problems with boycotting UCLA in the past.
