Easing into finals week

Remember, fans - this is finals week for most schools, so the game schedule will be less in the coming days, beginning tomorrow. Have patience while the youngins get their education.

No upsets in today's games, somehow. But several match ups were interesting because of their unexpected struggles:

Saint Mary's sneaked by Cal Poly in overtime, 65-64.

USC squeaked by Sacramento State, 101-99.

Arkansas-Little Rock hung on to beat Oklahoma, 66-62.

Texas Tech outlasted Texas-Pan American, 50-42.

Missouri slipped past Northern Illinois, 47-44.

Other results:

#11 Tennessee used defense to drop #17 Rutgers, 55-45.

Ohio State isn't doing bad with their small roster: they routed Western Michigan, 83-46.

Arizona is also exceeding expectations, as they bounced UAB, 49-44 for their fourth straight win.

Mercer downed Alabama, 46-39.

Kansas State and Florida also survived close ones.

Full scoreboard.

Milestones:

Nneka Enempkali of Texas and Alex Sheedy of Fresno State both crossed the 1,000-point career mark today.

Player news:

Iowa State guard Jadda Buckley is finding her groove after a rough patch.

Team news:

Major player finds are paving the way for Green Bay.

Lauren Hill:

The Mount St. Joseph's freshman with inoperable brain cancer keeps beating the odds: she played in the team's first home game yesterday.
