Its going to be very interesting to see who will back Diana up at the Guard spot, Whalen or Diggins. For publicity/rating purposes, its Diggins. But for scoring/leadership/toughness, its Whalen.
If Diggins is chosen over Whalen or Danielle Robinson, "something rotten" will have expanded its base of operation from just Denmark!
Diggins has no business being within 10 miles of a WNBA All Star team. Tulsa finally won a game after she was hurt and didn't play. Should tell people something.
You guys are right, she doesn't belong amongst greatness just yet. But, she was ahead of them both in terms of votes. Now, do you go with "most votes" or "better player"
If we go by ability the only toss up to talk about is between Diggins and Samantha Prahalis...and I apologize in advance to the recently cut Prahalis.
That's the problem with "beauty contest" All Star voting although I think EDD actually earned her votes.
I also think the real marketing wins for the W this year will be EDD becoming a Rock Star and the Durant / Wright couple. Both are potentially huge wins from a marketability standpoint. It doesn't hurt that Durant could buy a W franchise with his pocket change and make it work.
