A source inside the University of Southern California confirmed this morning that all three women's basketball assistant coaches were no longer with the program. Laura Beeman and Mary Wooley left on their own to take coaching jobs at the University of Hawaii. The source would not elaborate on the departure of the third assistant, Michael Cooper II, but said that there were "a number of people at USC who really care about the program and who are making sure that the right things are done."
Michael Cooper is still the head women's basketball coach.
Apparently, disgruntled feelings about the program surfaced within staff ranks a long time ago, according to the source.
"There's no reason that a team with (up to) nine All-Americans should fail to make the playoffs year after year," said the source.

Sounds like Coop has ruffled some feathers.Next season will be his last if the NCAA tourney is missed again.
IT'S TIME FOR COOPER TO GO... NOW, THE ADMINISTRATION WAS HOPING THAT ASKING HIM TO GET RID OF HIS STAFF WOULD CAUSE HIM TO HAVE SOME PRIDE AND STAND UP AND SAY NO AND SAY I AM LEAVING. BUT COOPER SHOWED YOU WHAT KIND OF MAN HE IS BY SPILLING HIS OWN SON TO SAVE HIMSELF... WHAT A LOSER! HE HAS BLAMED EVERYONE BUT HIMSELF AND ADMINISTRATION WANTS HIM OUT! Coach Cooper is one of the best women’s coaches that have ever coached at USC. I attended practically all of USC’s home games and I have talked to some of Copper’s ball players. The players and the fans are very supportive of Cooper. I have also talked to former players and they too are supportive of his Program and what he is trying to do. It is very hard to consistently win with a 3 guard offence especially when key players are playing hurt or are setting out the season due to injuries. Two of his key players have had 8 knee surgeries, EACH, in their careers and they continue to return and play for Coach. Despite the injuries and the lack of a center, the 2011-2012 team finished 1 game out of second place behind Stanford and Cal. The team should have been invited to the NCAA Tournament. The two assistant coaches that left for the University of Hawaii took head coaching positions. They will be successful because they were trained by Coach Cooper and I am sure they received recommendations from the Coach. Coach Cooper, the fans are supporting you and your team. FIGHT ON. Just recruit a good post player and a forward and your Program will be an elite Program.
trust me, call heritage hall and see if you can get a source to tell you their feelings... they are too savvy to tell you their plans, so get the feelings... the caps was to stress the point, lol... what else is there to say... the writing is on the wall... coop sees it and he always knows when it is coming he's a pro... you can speak with sparks management and see if they were interested in him returning... he knew it and took the usc gig before his sparks season even started... look if anyone thought he did a good job in 3 years and was moving in the right direction...they would be singing praises... but that's not the deal... it just has not happened and it's been a classless act. leopards don't change their spots... they can't...

Anonymous, I'm not a USC graduate and I don't know what Heritage Hall is or does.
HERITAGE HALL is where the history of Troy is on display, the trophies, jerseys, honors, etc... but more importantly, it is where the Administrations offices are. Pat Haden and staff, compliance, etc...Look players are political and they are good kids. But lets not make a mistake, the injured players were playing because they love to play, not for Coach Cooper! Some like cooper, a lot don't, they are not going to say it, come on now. Former players, don't be so quick there, what former players, you think they don't know that they have never made a NCAA tournament? you think they have not been aware of cooper saying and acting like Trakh didn't recruit good enough players and he's been saying he needs his own players (meaning recruits...) However, they will say it in their exit interviews as some have... coop is an engaging guy, no one is saying he is a bad guy, what do you expect the players to say? but some don't like the fact that he blames them a lot and others who have had better coaching knows he is not a great coach. A legend in L A yes, but a great coach noooo! and stop it with the he is respected in the college coaching world,,, they do not respect him as a college coach, they respect him for his accomplishments as a former laker and his sparks championships, as well they should... but they laugh at the fact that he can't get it done with 9 all americans. What is there to respect. the people in Heritage Hall are fed up with the excuses...believe me. they are not players, so you can't keep fooling them. they are over the coop time because it has not reaped the anticipated benefits. it's the business part... and fans like coop? what fans, the Galen is empty on most nights, so fans? what all 10 of us? we often sit in our own arena with less fans than our opponent. And the part that has irked Administration is the way he has conducted business, and how he has represented the university by sticking his foot in his mouth! save the post and refer back, his days are short...take it from someone that knows, you have a lead here.
I'm leary of anything anyone says who isn't on the team or the coaching staff. Especially when they claim to speak for others. You don't know what present or past players think because you aren't them! So don't try to pretend. Re: all the things you claim to know - how do you know someone isn't trying to shine you on? At the end of the day, personnel decisions are in the hands of the USC athletics administration.
Thank you Sue, you know the history of USC’s Program and you also know how injuries to key players can affect anyone’s basketball program. Coach Cooper is a great coach. Anonymous failed to mention that two of Coach Cooper’s ball players were drafted by the WNBA this year. They were the first players in USC’s history to be drafted by a professional basketball team. Anonymous also failed to mention that the number one ranked girls high school basketball player has USC on her short list. Anonymous , Coach Cooper has also signed two highly ranked guards and has a verbal commitment from a third guard. With his new recruits, contribution from this red shirt freshmen, and his returning players, Coach Cooper has put together the wining ingredients for a very entertaining, competitive 2012-2013season.
Anonymous, you are correct injured players will play because they love the game. However, if Coach Cooper’s players did not have confidence in him, they probably would have transferred to another college. For you to imply that the player’s love of the game supersedes the respect that they have for their coach is underestimating the Women of Troy. I sit in the stands with the parents and the fans and I hear what is said. If you have any doubts, sit in Section 102, about 4 -6 rows back. My niece works for USC and she told me that there is no indication that Coach Cooper’s job is in jeopardy. Anonymous’ Blogs about the comments that are coming out of HERITAGE HALL are much to do about nothing. When USC’s coaches bring prospective recruits into the Galen Center, the biggest issue that the coaches have to address is lack of fan attendance. USC is a football school, period and it has been that way for decades. Football is the school’s sport not basketball or volleyball. Anonymous’ comment about fan attendance would be legitimate if USC was in another region of the country with limited social activities. USC is a high profile school with a high profile coach and a bright basketball future. The USC family will FIGHT ON.
