USC 67, WSU 62

The Trojans lead comfortably throughout last night's "pink" game, and had attained a 63-40 lead with just over six minutes left. Then the Cougars went on a 9-0 run to close the gap to 60-52 at the 4:37 mark. USC climbed back up to a 12-point lead a minute later, but their own turnovers and fouls resulted in another WSU run, with the home team up 64-59 with a minute to play. At 12 seconds to go, freshman Trojan point guard Ariya Crook threw down a crucial three, and sealed the win for her team.

Cassie Harberts lead USC with 19 points, and Briana Gilbreath, in her first game back since being injured last week, added 14. April Cook lead WSU with 18 points and Jazmine Perkins put up 17.

Game notes:

- WSU looked good - better than they have in a long time. They're much faster than they used to be, and their shooting is decent.
- Ariya Crook is looking more and more like she's ready to take over that point guard position. The Trojans have been without a true point since Camille LeNoir graduated in 2009.
