Cool high school story:
India isn't a hot bed for girls and women's basketball, but two California star players are breaking cultural barriers through their achievements.
NCAA:
University of Washington Coach Kevin McGuff coaches his team for both the present and the future.
The drive, with UCLA guard Rebekah Gardner.
By the way, I found some stats for the candidates for Pac-12 most improved player nominations:
Rebekah Gardner - 7.9 ppg, 3.3 rpg last year; 15.7 ppg this year
Chiney Ogwumike - 11.7 ppg and 8 rpg last year; 15.6 ppg and 10.6 rpg this year
Thea Lemberger - .6 ppg and .2 rpg last year; 15.6 ppg and 10.6 rpg this year
Gennifer Brandon - 7.2 ppg and 8.5 rpg in 09-10; 9.6 ppg and 10.9 rpg this year
Regina Rogers - 10 ppg and 5.4 rpg last year; 15.8 ppg and 8.1 rpg this year
Amanda Johnson - 15.9 ppg and 8.3 rpg last year; 19.7 ppg and 10.4 rpg this year
So statistically, the winner would have to be Gardner, Lemberger or Rogers. But who is truly carrying their team?

I would argue Lemberger or Gardner. Without theirleadership, the Bruins would be at the bottom of that Pac. Lemberger is averaging a double double, and when you compare that to last season it's almost a no brainer....
