I watched Stanford barely get past South Carolina last night (53-49). If Dawn Staley had called her last timeout and not had a freshman handling the ball, USC might well have won.
Then I remembered 1992's Final Four, when Virginia's Dawn Staley desperately called for a timeout against Stanford but didn't get it. The Cardinal won 66-65 and went on to be national champions.
:-)
It's always nice to talk with someone else who has that historical perspective.
History/herstory has a way of repeating itself.
