More close games today at the Olympics

Australia's narrow win over Russia, with the Liz Cambage dunk, wasn't the only close game today.

France overcame Great Britain in overtime, 80-77. It looks like the French were underestimated.

Canada defeated Brazil, 79-73.

On the blowout side:

Croatia 75, Angola 56.

Turkey 82, China 55.

USA 88, Czech Republic 61. It is the 37th consecutive win for the USA National Team. They won despite getting off to another slow start.

USA Basketball youngins:

The U18 team has reconvened at the Olympic Training Center to prepare for the FIBA Americas U18 Championship Aug. 15-19 in Puerto Rico.

The U18 3X3 National Teams have been named, and the women's includes Erica McCall, Diamond DeShields, Allisha Gray and Brianna Turner.

WNBA:

Former league star and Olympian Ruthie Bolton will be autographing her new book Aug. 12 in Sacramento.

Rookie Samantha Prahalis is a wild thing in Phoenix.
