In perhaps the most-anticipated matchup of the day at the Long Beach State Pyramid, the Inglewood girls beat previously undefeated Agoura for the 3AA crown. IHS players said they were never intimidated by the Chargers' record. Fans cited what they said was Agoura's weak schedule in the seeming ease of the Sentinels' win. It was the first CIF title for Inglewood, which couldn't contain its joy at the final buzzer.

Carson took it to overtime to beat Narbonne last night, 53-47, to claim the City Section Championship. Before the game, coaches from both teams spoke about the rivalry between the teams.

Just before the Inglewood-Agoura game, Harvard-Westlake narrowly beat Bishop Montgomery, 58-54, for the 4AA title.

To no one's surprise, Long Beach Poly is the 1AA champion, and Mater Dei pummeled Woodbridge for the 2A crown, 71-29.

State is next for these talented teams.

In Texas, the same kind of day went down. Chiney Ogwumike lead her infamous Cy-Fair team to a division title, and collected an MVP award in the process.
