The Detroit Shock will now be the Tulsa Shock. Former Arkansas coach Nolan Richardson will be their first coach next summer. Pretty weird, huh?
Pet has some excellent analysis on why the organization failed. Motor City Sports has a more wistful take on the matter.
In the meantime, it appears the Atlanta Dream might be for sale. They aren't selling season tickets to their regulars for next summer - how scary is that? I hope they won't keep fans in suspense long.
Bonus: Sparks General Manager Penny Toler is not saying anything about the organization's search for a coach.

i think there are a number of candidates for the l.a. hc position. of course, stanley (who i just have never warmed up to), pokey, and the just available cheryl reeve. for years, people have said cheryl was going to be a good/great hc; but she was content to stay in learning mode under bl's tutelage. i think it'd be interesting to see what she can do on her own. and should atlanta fold, coy meadors would be available. although, i think carol ross would have to have some cosideration, assuming she's want to throw her hat into the ring.

MMM, I like the Cheryl Reeve thought! I hope ATL doesn't fold, though.
As a woman and a business woman, I can't believe anyone could get behind Marianne Stanley for anything. She's proven herself to destroy any college program she's been in charge of and her behavior is anything but professional.
hey, sass. how about this scenario:
betty lennox is from oklahoma and when the storm were teattering on moving, she wasn't at all unhappy about the prospect.
but then we didn't, got new owners, agler came aboard, and betty was gone. not to oklahoma, but atlanta. now l.a. so lets see if b-money is on her way back home, finally.
let the trade talks begin! whatcha think?

Um, HELL NAW!!
Betty's ours - you can't have her.
