More news than you can shake a stick at

Where did that "shake a stick at" phrase come from, anyway?

The news is finally out: Lady Vol Amber Gray's shoulder surgery ended up being life-saving, as doctors found an anuerysm in her brain that was beginning to swell. The Universe was really watching out for this young player, thank goodness.

The Detroit Shock visited President Obama today, who recognized their 2008 Championship. After I got over the (no pun intended) shock of seeing Katie Smith in a dress, I was delighted to read that the Pres says the WNBA inspires his two daughters. Freakin awesome.

U19s beat Canada today, 64-50.

Finally, Sparks Coach Michael Cooper is pounding reserve center Vanessa Hayden for her lagging conditioning.
