Utah announced earlier today that coach Anthony Levrets has been fired after five seasons:
The team went 9-21 overall this season, with a 3-15 mark in Pac-12. The Utes were 78-87 in five seasons under Levrets. His best season came in 2012-13 when the team went 23-14 and played in the WNIT championship......
Hill said in a statement that the program needs a "change in direction" and added "our women's basketball program has achieved great success throughout its history and we are committed to its continued success."
Ah, an athletic department that is committed to the success of its women's basketball program. I just became a University of Utah fan.
Remember what I said this morning, that when a coach is fired shows how much the school cares about the women's hoops program? Washington State's June Daugherty didn't have as many wins after seven years as Levrets had in five. Tells you all you need to know, doesn't it?
SWAC brawl:
The brawl between Texas Southern and Southern during the Southwest Athletic Conference championship game last night is under review.
