UConn, Quinnipiac, Baylor take titles; SWAC brawl suspensions

Tickets punched:

Connecticut put away South Florida, 84-70, to take the American Athletic Conference Championship - their second in a row.

Quinnipiac took down Marist, 72-61, to win the MAAC Championship and end a nine-year run by the Red Foxes.

Baylor beat Texas, 75-64, to claim the Big 12 Championship for the fifth straight time.

BYU upset Gonzaga, 61-55.

San Francisco prevailed over San Diego, 65-57.

Big East semifinals-

Seton Hall ran past St. John's, 72-60.

DePaul edged Villanova, 58-55.

SWAC suspensions, school actions:

The brawl that occurred Saturday between Southern and Texas Southern has resulted in punishments from the Southwestern Athletic Conference, and both schools.

The Conference suspended seven players from Southern and eight from Texas Southern.

Southern dismissed one player and suspended another for the rest of the season.

Texas Southern has banned its team from the SWAC Tournament.
