The Mercury's offseason major earthquake

Some ado is being made of the changes the Los Angeles Sparks have made so far this winter. A more apt team example for sweeping change is the Phoenix Mercury, who have signed seven players and announced that their marquee athlete won't set foot on the court this summer. Not to mention that their point guard was signed by Los Angeles.

Here's another goody, to go along with the rumor I've heard that Penny Taylor won't play in Phoenix this year, either:

The 33-year-old star is no certainty to return to Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA. Nor is she certain to ever play again in the WNBL, although she hasn't ruled them out either.

All Taylor is focused on is taking the Rangers as far as they can go. And, considering they have beaten the other top-four sides, they could do something special.

It's one thing to gut a losing team, but to "rebuild" a team that looked trophy-worthy at midseason? Crazy.
