Parity makes for some interesting times

Upsets:

Miami upset #6 North Carolina, 83-80. The 'Canes lead by as many as 19.

Michigan State upended #19 Purdue, 89-73.

Wake Forest pummeled #23 Florida State, 78-54.

Almost upsets:

#12 Penn State held off Northwestern, 79-75.

#16 Vanderbilt squeezed by #17 Texas A&M, 71-69.

#15 Arizona State survived Oregon, 97-94.

Some were wondering on twitter today:

Why #3 Duke tends to have a poor showing against highly-ranked teams. #2 Notre Dame cruised by them, 88-67. The Irish are the only other team besides Connecticut that remains unbeaten.

Other notable results:

Washington beat USC, 63-55, leading from buzzer to buzzer. The Huskies swept the Southern California schools this road trip for the first time since 2002.

UCLA snapped back from Friday's loss to top WSU, 79-72.

In Battle of the Bay II, #4 Stanford downed #21 Cal, 79-64.

#10 Tennessee beat Alabama, 64-54, for the 40th time.

Wisconsin buried Ohio State, 82-71.

Colorado dispatched Utah, 61-45.

Oregon State dominated Arizona, 64-50.

Oh how the mighty have fallen II:

Mississippi State defeated Georgia, 80-67.

Auburn downed Arkansas, 56-48.
