That Stringer / Rutgers interview is sad. She's better than that. Every coach in WCBB has to deal with injuries and recruiting problems. That program is a train wreck right now and it is totally on her.
I'm bummed about this as she's always pretty much been a class act in the past.
CVS will be 65 in March. Hopefully she'll have her 900 victories by then and will retire, then or in 2014. Her AD sure sounds like he's ready for her to go.
It's nice to see Gemelos getting a shot at her WNBA dream. I hope it works out for her. I had no idea that she had only played in 57 games in her 5 or 6 years at USC. That's pretty unbelievable.
It does make a person wonder how she ended up being a WNBA draft pick last year given her injury history and actual college game experience. There were plenty other quality ballers available without her physical problems.
More importantly I hope she'll be able to get around without assistance or knee replacement surgery ten years from now.

Good Link. I didn't know her dad played at Weber State. They play in the Big Sky conference which roll out a pretty good brand of roundball. So he obviously gets it.
He did the right thing as a parent in trying to get her to stop after her third surgery. He was ignored, she had two more surgeries and got drafted basically as a courtesy by the WNBA. Now she's getting ready to try to make MN coming off another surgery.
The truth is she can't play anymore. Her body can't take it for whatever reason. She isn't the first baller whose body failed her and she won't be the last.
Mark your calendar and do a retrospective on her in ten years. If she's smart she'll get into something that reasonably combines her physical limitations with her love of basketball. Coaching maybe?
If she's in need of a transitional role model to the next phase of her roundball life she should look to someone like Shea Ralph.
