Poor worldwide economy is limiting overseas basketball opportunities for U.S. players

Something you might not know: a flagging economy worldwide is making it extremely difficult for some of your favorite basketball players to find work overseas in the winter, as they do traditionally.

Find out how our U.S. players are able to make so much more playing in Europe and Asia than they do here; it's a completely different system than what we have.

Agents interviewed represent the vast majority of players and coaches in the WNBA:

Goodwin Sports Management

The Cound Group

Sports International Group, Inc.

I also spoke with agents from Eurobasket.

Great piece. Most informative article I've ever read on the subject.

Makes sense that they're struggling given the problems in the EU.

Thanks very much.

You don't hear the positive comments near as much as the negative.
