From Sparks HQ:
Point Guard Loree Moore Leaves the Los Angeles Sparks
Five-Year WNBA Veteran had Joined the Sparks this Off-Season
LOS ANGELES – Loree Moore, a 5’9” point guard, has decided to leave the Los Angeles Sparks due to medical reasons, it was announced Wednesday.
“Loree will unfortunately not be able to continue her WNBA career with the Sparks due to health issues,” General Manager Penny Toler said. “We wish her all the best in the future.”
The Carson, Calif., native joined the Sparks in February after previously playing five seasons (2005-09) with the New York Liberty. There she averaged 6.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 155 regular season league games. Moore was a 2007 WNBA All-Defensive Team selection, and helped New York reach the 2008 Eastern Conference Semifinals.
The Sparks’ 2011 training camp roster currently stands at 13 players entering today’s preseason game vs. the Seattle Storm.
Check out that last line. With only two more cuts to make, the Sparks are looking powerful right now. If they stay healthy.
