Round 1, day 2 features upsets

Mid-majors ruled the day, in upset after upset:

Central Michigan knocked off LSU, 78-69. It's the first NCAA Tournament win in program history.

Buffalo toppled South Florida, 102-79. It was their first tourney win in program history, too.

FGCU stunned Missouri, 80-70.

Oklahoma State exploded on Syracuse, 84-57.

Creighton felled Iowa, 76-70.

Mississippi State 95, Nicholls State 50.

UCLA 71, American 60.

Arizona State 73, Nebraska 62.

Texas 83, Maine 54.

Spokane regional:

Ohio State 87, George Washington 45.

Lexington regional:

Stanford 82, Gonzaga 68.

Albany regional:

Florida State 91, Little Rock 49.

Duke 72, Belmont 58.

Georgia 68, Mercer 63.

Quinnipiac 86, Mercer 72.

UConn 140, St. Francis 52.
