WNBA and National Basketball Referees Association approves agreement

WNBA AND NATIONAL BASKETBALL REFEREES ASSOCIATION APPROVE TWO-YEAR COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT

NEW YORK, April 17, 2017 – The WNBA announced today that the league has entered its first collective bargaining agreement with the National Basketball Referees Association, which is the union representing the WNBA referees. The two-year agreement begins with the 2017 season.

“We commend our officials for their hard work and dedication to the game and are very pleased to have reached an agreement,” said WNBA President Lisa Borders. “We now look forward to continuing to deliver the best basketball in the world to our fans as our 21st season tips off on May 13.”

Per league policy, terms of the agreement will not be disclosed.
