I assume you've seen the latest horrific news about Lawrence Phillips, once football star at Nebraska. The NY Times had an amazing article back in 1996 about how he got a slap on the wrist for beating up his ex-girlfriend, Kate McEwen. She lost her basketball scholarship. He missed six games.
