They're Playing Basketball

Why is it.......

Why is it that when an undefeated team finally sustains its first loss, that a cascade of losses then often ensues?

Witness:

Washington State's 70-60 upset of #21 Colorado.

#22 Purdue's 86-53 walloping of Indiana.

More results:

#19 Arizona State upset #15 Cal, 68-59.

Washington squeaked by Utah, 53-52.

Santa Clara 69, Portland 62.

#23 Gonzaga 68, San Francisco 40.

#4 Stanford 96, Arizona 52.

USC 81, Oregon State 60.

UCLA 88, Oregon 83.

Full scoreboard.

Other news:

Duke's Chelsea Gray had successful knee surgery today.

Next week is "We Back Pat" week in the SEC.

Rutgers is playing at a high level again.

Coach Sherri Coale is troubled by the Sooner's lack of energy.

UConn forward Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis admits she still has some work to do.

Tennessee guard Meighan Simmons was in a car accident last week.

The Purdue diaries: new year's update.
