I'd like to present the 2009 MCF (Most Classless Fans) Award to the busload of Phoenix Mercury fans who came in for the game last night. With a few seconds of the game to go, several brandished and hoisted "Beat LA" signs and began chanting the same thing, very loudly.
"Beat LA! Beat LA!" they screamed, waving their signs. Fans in Pauley Pavilion booed them, but they kept on chanting. After the final buzzer sounded, they high-fived. I've not seen anything that brash and disrespectful before. Storm fans used to take road trips and yell and scream in the opponent's arena, but never taunted the crowd afterwards when the Storm won.
Sore winners are so distasteful.
Phoenix was already my least favorite WNBA team. Now I see they have the fans to match.
The straw-haired woman in the orange shirt was particulary happy about her chant and her sign.
The funny thing about this picture is that Sparks co-owner Kathy Goodman, far left, was sitting in front of them and didn't seem to care at all.

First, there was no busload, any Phoenix fans in Pauley made it there all by themselves.
Second, the last game of the season, when LA beat Phoenix, the Sparks fans who came to the game (maybe 40 of them?) were gathered in the concourse celebrating like they just won the title, and not one Phoenix fan pointed out that their starters had barely won playing against out bench the entire 4th quarter...because that would have been rude and they had a right to be happy even if it was overblown, LOL. Fans celebrate, get over it
Perhaps you should be here during an LA game, as they have the most classes fans who behave like children. Maybe then you can base your opinion, or maybe it'd never change.
But don't DARE clump us all together, because it is you showing the least class of all. Needless to say your attempt at making a point was pointless.
Did you ever play ball?

It's called being a freaking fan. LA's fans have long been annoying and classless. Karma's a beyotch, ain't it.
BTW - Don't clump us together. That's straight ignorance; though I already have doubts as to your intelligence.
