Happy New Year Tweethearts! I have received a ton of questions regarding the LA Sparks.

Lisa Leslie ‏@LisaLeslie 55m

My role as a minority owner has never involved the day-to-day operations of the team. The recent events came as a surprise to me.

As a member of the LA sparks family for over 15 years, it saddens me that the organization is this situation. #SparksFam

Sparks ownership group asked WNBA for financial assistance

Interesting find from SwishAppeal, who maintains that the WNBA needs to be more forthcoming about the situation.

Possible new Sparks owners.

Seattle Storm may lose Bing sponsorship

The Seattle Storm may lose its sponsorship from Bing, but it would not mean the end of the franchise:

The Storm could lose its title sponsor, Bing, according to team co-owner Lisa Brummel, who’s a Microsoft executive. Seattle isn’t expected to suffer like LA, however.

“We are still in discussions with a lot of sponsorship people and that’s something we’re going to have to pursue,” Brummel said Friday. “While it’s beneficial, it’s not essential. If we were not to land a sponsor in the same way we have in the past, we have a plan to move forward.”
